This little gem is a wonderful introduction to the faith for children in terms — and using images –that they can readily understand. At the same time, it is not a watered-down presentation. Seeds of Faith uses the analogy of planting and cultivating seeds that grow into full maturity as plants and trees just as the seed of Faith grows when it is planted in our souls at Baptism.
I read this book with my five and two year old daughters who enjoyed it as well. They were able to grasp many of the concepts and, for my five year old, it became a resource she could go back to for a treasury of prayers, the Ten Commandments, a list of the sacraments, and a description of various holy objects. This book is something she goes back to often, and a book she can take to Mass and look at it to focus her attention.
This book, like Gortler and Piscitelli’s other works, is a good addition to any young Catholic’s library. I highly recommend it.
