I’m always interested to see a new distillery crop up in the bourbon market. While I am partial to Maker’s Mark, I’ve thought about broadening my horizons to try new and different bourbons to see what lands outside of Kentucky have to offer. (That is, when I have the funds to do so.)

A brand new distillery recently opened in New York called Tuthilltown Spirits. It is the first such distillery in New York since prohibition. The Journal covered it yesterday.

While the Hudson Baby Bourbon is a bit pricy (one store had it for $50 for a 350 ml bottle), it may one day be worth a try if we are near a store that sells it.

Bourbon lovers, raise a glass (after Lent), to Tuthilltown.
