In his unmistakable style, Fulton Sheen presents in The True Meaning of Easter a beautiful reflection on the Easter mysteries of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. I enjoy audio books generally, so I naturally enjoyed the calm, meditative walk through the events of Holy Week with Bishop Sheen.
This CD is not a theologically-thick work. It is, rather, something I would listen to during Holy Week or throughout Lent to bring to mind the reality of the season. It is a very accessible CD that would appeal to anyone in your family. The beautiful Gregorian chant in the background supports a rich choice of scripture passages with meditations by Bishop Sheen. If you close your eyes, it may even feel like a Tenebrae service or a Holy Week event.
The CD is not long, and can be listened to easily in one sitting. I would recommend this to any family or individual seeking to add something extra to a Lenten or Easter devotion.
