Msgr. Albacete has this interesting article noting the resurgence of people flocking to confession. I think this is a great piece dealing with the social nature of sin–the reason that forgiveness comes through the ministry of the Church, the graces contained therein, is that we sin against God and our neighbor. The act of confession recognizes the social nature of sin, and heals that wound through a social (public) act. That’s some nice food for meditation.
